DUCK KEY, FLA (January 23, 2024) – This month, Hawks Cay Resort, the largest resort in the Florida Keys, launches its 40th-anniversary celebration, marking a significant milestone. As a testament to four decades of providing unparalleled hospitality and unforgettable memories, the resort will unveil a year-long series of special deals and promotions, with each quarter bringing unique opportunities for guests to experience the magic of the Florida Keys.

To kick off the anniversary festivities, Hawks Cay Resort is inviting guests to enjoy the "40th Anniversary – Now and Then" offer, providing a complimentary fourth night plus a $40 daily dining credit when booking stays now through March 31, 2024. In February, the resort will launch their “40 Summers and Counting – Endless Savings” offer providing 20% off stays and 50% off per person on Sunset Cruises with Solé Watersports when booking a minimum of two nights in April through June.

"As Hawks Cay Resort commemorates 40 years in the heart of the Florida Keys, we embrace our rich history and look forward to an exciting future," said Tiffiany Holmes, Hawks Cay’s resort director. "From humble beginnings to becoming the largest resort in the Keys, we're not just reflecting on the past; we're casting our gaze forward. Our legacy is the foundation, and the promise of a vibrant future is integral to our story.”

Reflecting on the resort's storied past, the island of Duck Key has been intertwined in the fabric of the Florida Keys since the 1800s. From the island's whimsical naming by British General George Gauld in 1775 to hosting presidents, weathering hurricanes, and the 1951 introduction of the Indies Inn, the resort's journey has been characterized by joy, resilience, and family bonds.

In 1984, Duck Key underwent significant changes, leading to the renovation of the existing Indies Inn and the subsequent reopening of the property as Hawks Cay Resort. Renovations continued through the years, including the 1999 villa renovation, the introduction of world-class amenities in 2003, and the inception of the Heroes Salute Program in 2009, embodying the spirit of gratitude and family values.

Hurricane Irma tested the resort's resilience in 2017, leading to a year-long closure. However, Hawks Cay Resort emerged stronger in 2018 after a $50 million renovation and redevelopment, unveiling a new coastal casual design, two new restaurants, an expanded adults-only area, and upgraded programming and amenities.

In 2024, Hawks Cay Resort has launched its “Vacay Pup” program, welcoming dogs to the resort for the first time. Later in the year, the completion of a marina renovation is set to elevate guest experience, providing enhanced facilities and a new retail outlet for water enthusiasts. Fishing, a cherished element of the resort’s legacy, remains a focal point, offering guests unparalleled opportunities to engage in fishing adventures. From paddleboarding to snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters, the resort ensures a dynamic range of activities for all ages. As the sun sets, guests can gather for live entertainment and themed events, transforming evenings into vibrant celebrations.

As Hawks Cay Resort embarks on its 40th year, the resort promises more exciting promotions and deals, along with an array of new programming and events to elevate the anniversary celebration experience. Stay tuned for updates on the resort's website and social media channels including Facebook, X and Instagram, for the latest announcements.
