Captain Mike Macko has over 20 years of fishing experience in the Florida Keys and is a second-generation Captain. Captain Macko honorably served in the U.S. Navy. Captain Macko has extensive knowledge of every type of fishery in the Florida Keys from offshore to inshore. This includes mahi, tuna, sailfish, snapper, tarpon and permit. Captain Macko is prepared to put you on a fish of a lifetime and an unforgettable experience here at Hawks Cay Resort.
About the Boat
Tailwalker 2 is the ideal family fishing charter, offering a smooth ride and shade. With the freedom to fish the reef or in the sheltered backcountry, Tailwalker 2 can cater to anglers of every skill and interest level. Tailwalker 2 drafts only 16'' of water fully loaded down, which allows you to get into the skinny waters of the backcountry. At the same time, the hull design offers great stability and a comfortable ride on a long run offshore, to the reef or a deep Gulf wreck.
Our Florida Keys fishing charter is outfitted with top-of-the line electronics, inshore and offshore spin fishing gear, everything needed for effective kite fishing, electric reels for deep dropping, and sword fishing. The boat is also equipped with one large 80 gallon live well to keep the bait healthy for long days on the water. There is also plenty of dry storage to keep your belongings safe and dry even in the wettest conditions.
